Dreams

I could tell you some pretty crazy ones I've had these past nine months. I'll spare you though. Last night, I did dream that our baby was a little mini-version of little Carson. Kinda scary:) And he kept begging me to put him in the dishwasher. So, I did. Woke up a little confused.

I had my 37 week appt yesterday and since I'm not progressing much, the doc wanted to schedule an induction. Unless I go into labor in the next 2 weeks, we will go in for me to be induced on June 16th at 4am. Only 13 days left!!!!!!! We are so pumped...

Here I am at 37 weeks...

Macon Baby Shower

I feel full. Not just because I have a big baby inside and eat pizza like it's going out of style. My heart feels full too. With yesterday being Mother's Day and all, Carson and I went to the pool and swam and talked for awhile. (Yes... I was wearing a HOT maternity bathing suit:) It was a good day. A day of reflection. I was thinking back to last Mother's Day and how it was a hard day for me. A hard day for both of us. Lots of doubts and questioning. Well, since then God has revealed himself to us in so many ways. He has shown us that he is faithful to us, even when we don't and can't have a child. And yesterday he reminded me that I am so blessed. Blessed to have a son who is almost here, and blessed to have Jesus, who never leaves me. He is enough. He is enough. And he is faithful. I have had to preach that to my unbelieving heart so many times this past year. But, I felt so full on Mother's Day this year. Full with gratitude for Jesus, who is faithful.

A few weeks ago, my sweet high school friends threw me a baby shower in Macon. It was such a picture of God's faithfulness again. Having them, along with other family and friends, love on us was so overwhelming. It was a very fun day.

Maggie and Mia

My bff's from high school. Their moms hosted the shower with them, but I failed to get a picture with everybody. Oooops.

The softest blanket ever that Granny made for him!

Royal girls

Pyles girls minus Mom.

My favorite girl in the world.

That night, there was a cookout/shower for Austin and Anna Caroline at my parents' house. We are missing Stevie in the pic though.

Hot date plus Thomas

Recently, Carson and I have been trying to think of things that we won't be doing once the baby gets here... and we are trying to do them in the next few weeks. Sleeping late has been the one I've been trying to soak up most:)

But this past Sunday, Carson told me he had a surprise date planned. But he promised I would enjoy it more if Thomas came along. I always love having Thomas along, so I agreed. They made me stay inside and had me walk out to a big canoe in the back of our neighbor's truck. And they took me on a hot canoe date. Carson had packed a cooler of drinks and the camera. We put the boat in right in front of the park and canoed for a few hours. I say "we", but really it was "they". Carson told me that my job was to sit in the middle and enjoy the scenery. I was definitely enjoying the "pregnant card" that day.

And canoeing is not something I think we'll be doing when meatball gets here. It was a perfect day.

There is a deserted island in the middle of the river that we see literally every day and have always wanted to visit. So, we did. Only to turn around after 10 minutes upon realizing that it was crawling with poison ivy.

Work Shower

We are blessed. Seriously, having these baby showers has been so humbling and overwhelming (in such a good way) for me and has reminded me of how blessed we are. Blessed to have a son on the way. And blessed to have such loving and giving friends.

Last week, some co-workers of mine at Erlanger threw me a work shower. Mom was invited and it was really fun for her to meet all of my work friends. They gave me tons of practical things (diapers, wipes, baby shampoo, etc.) and some really cute outfits and toys. My friend, Ruth, even knitted him some little baby booties.

I am planning on taking 6 months off from work and then going back one day a week. I love my job in both ERs and I'm sad about not seeing everyone for awhile ... but I'm pumped about my soon-to-be job as a mom:)

Genetics

Good news. My wish from the last post might come true. My very serious wish that our little meatball will have a fro like his daddy. You see, we went to the doc on Friday and had our 30 week ultrasound. Immediately, the ultrasound lady said, "Oh my goodness! Look at all that hair... all those curls! You aren't normally able to see this much at 30 weeks."

So... we might have a gorilla. Or just a stud with a fro.

We shall see!

Just to give you a glimpse of the fro Carson was rocking as a babe, look below. These are three pictures that I blew up and hung in the nursery of the dad and 2 granddads. Aren't they all adorable?

And we're back!

Ok guys. It has been 6 months or so since my last post. If there is anybody still out there, I'm sorry:) I am determined to be more bloggy now. I have a little more reason to do it now.

You see, here is what I am thinking. I have a niece now. And I love her. And I don't live in the same town as her, but I want to know all about her life. So Sara has a blog and updates me on Maggie.

So, since we do not have any family in town, I will attempt to update you on our little one when he gets here. I know now how important it is.

Things we have been told about our child already:

he's a boy.
he has long legs.
he is "extremely active" (so much so that he gives me contractions every 20-30 minutes already).
he is due june 23rd.
he has a fro like his daddy.

nope, we don't really know if the last one is true. it is just a very serious hope of mine.

many of you have asked for belly pics. we haven't been good about taking them, but here are the ones that i have...

Again

It's scary. Really scary, I tell ya. No, this is not a picture from this past May when a tree fell on our car and then another fell on our house. This is what we woke up to last Tuesday morning. And it's our neighbor's tree. This time it came 3 feet from our car. Wouldn't have really mattered though because we still haven't gotten it fixed from the last time. Anyways, it is crazy. 3 big trees in 4 months. Everyone was completely ok and it only did damage to the driveway. But, it was a gorgeous tree. And it blocked a lot of sun from our bedroom window on Saturday mornings. Oh, well...

Not that this is a big deal at all, but the next day one of our small, dead trees fell. Just for giggles.
